Lydia L. (Ott) Lewis

Lydia L. Lewis, a long-time resident of The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township, formerly of Perkasie, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at her residence. She was 92.

Born in Hilltown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer H. and Sallie A. (Leidy) Ott. She was a 1942 graduate of Hatfield High School.

A homemaker when her children were young, Lydia was later employed for more than 20 years as a line worker and shipper at the former Lemmon Pharmaceutical Company, Sellersville. She retired in 1989.

An active lifetime member of St. Peter’s Covenant Church, Hilltown, Lydia had sung in the choir, volunteered with the Women’s Guild, and served as church picnic coordinator.

During her 16-year residence at Rockhill, Lydia had volunteered as a hall monitor and happily served as a volunteer with the RMC Cookie Monster.

A talented seamstress and cook, Lydia also enjoyed reading, dining out, and traveling with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lydia is survived by her children, Donna Trumbower and her husband, Tom, of Perkasie; William Lewis and his wife, Donna, of Hilltown; eight grandchildren, Shelley Lewis, of Perkasie; Matthew Lewis, of West Grove, PA; Sally Walsh and her husband, Dan, of Hockessin, DE; Douglas Trumbower and his wife, Valerie, of Perkasie; Marcella Twamley and her husband, Steven, of North Carolina; Tara Brown and her husband, Stephan, of Sellersville; Tamala McDevitt and her husband, Daniel, of Plymouth Meeting; Carol Nyce and her husband, Tim, of Lansdale; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Alderfer, of Harleysville; and a son-in-law, Thomas Wentz, of Schwenksville.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie I. Wentz, in 1994, and seven brothers, Norman, Frank, Harvey, Elmer, Raymond, Paul, and Richard Ott.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, November 3, at St. Peter’s Covenant Church, 1006 Hilltown Pike, Hilltown, PA 18927 with a brief visitation from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Friday, November 4, at the church prior to the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Union Cemetery, Hilltown.
