Paul R. Leister

Paul R. Leister, of Sellersville (Hilltown Township), passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at The Lutheran Community at Telford. He was 95.
He was the husband of the late Elsie (Richter) Leister for 65 years until her death in 2012.
Born in Almont, he was a son of the late Raymond L. and Annie (Schoch) Leister.
Mr. Leister was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served in World War II.
Paul had been employed as an instrument assembler for U.S. Gauge Division, Ametek Inc., Sellersville for 45.5 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a life member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church (Almont), Sellersville, having served on Church Council and as a head usher for many years.
A member of Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 255 and VFW Forrest Lodge Post 245, both of Sellersville, he had also been active with the Almont Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Paulette J. Eister, and her husband, Warren, Jr., of Perkasie; two granddaughters, Brenda Kleinhenz and her husband, John, of Shoemakersville; Jennifer Wilson and her husband, David, of Gilbertsville; four great-grandchildren, Sean, Kelly, and Jacob Kleinhenz; and Matthew Wilson; and siblings, Rosell Leister and his wife, Arlene; Perma Hibbs and her husband, Clarence, all of Telford; and Mazie Seachrist, of Sellersville.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Myrtle Oberton, Geraldine Klinger, and James Clair Leister.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m.
Interment with military honors will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 733 Ridge Road, Sellersville, PA 18960 or GVH Hospice, Grand View Health Foundation, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 or The Lutheran Community at Telford, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, PA 18969.
