Alice J. Leister

Alice J. Leister, a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away peacefully Friday, July 26, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Maryland. She was 86.

She was the beloved wife of the late J. Clair Leister for nearly 59 years until his death in 2014.

Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Margaret G. (Fitzgerald) Fell.

Alice had been employed for many years as a waitress, including at the former Emil’s Diner, Sellersville. More recently, until her retirement, she had worked in customer service at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Alice, known affectionately as “Tootie,” enjoyed working on various crafts projects, playing board and card games, and watching classic Western TV shows and movies.

A forthright, fiercely independent woman, Alice had a warm and giving heart. She loved spending time with her family, delighting as ever more great-grandchildren joined the family circle.

Mrs. Leister is survived by her three children: Wayne S. Leister and his wife, Donna, of Sellersville, Rodney G. Leister and his wife, Diane, of Center Valley, and Deanna L. Pe and her husband, Arnell, of Cobb Island, MD; six grandchildren: Melinda Wheeler, Courtney Ayala, Danica Konyk, Alyssa Leister, Taylor Konyk, and Delaney Campos; and six great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by six sisters: Barbara Rush, Elizabeth Wambold, Mildred McCloskey, Natalie Weimer, Karen Wampole, and Ethel Ladley, all of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Fell, and a sister, Sarah Godshall.

Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of service.

Interment in Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Sellersville (Almont) will follow the service.
