Richard E. Laverick

January 25, 1929 — November 8, 2015

Richard Edward Laverick, of Doylestown, formerly of Sellersville, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, in Neshaminy Manor with loved ones and excellent caregivers by his side. He was 86.

He was the beloved husband of Marlene “Molly” (Hendricks) Laverick for 61 years.

Born in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania on January 25, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Winifred (Dennis) Laverick.

Mr. Laverick was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Japan in the aftermath of World War II.

Following his military service, Richard moved with his family to the Sellersville area to find work, where he met the love of his life and raised a family.

Mr. Laverick had been employed for 40 years as a punch press operator at the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville.

Rich was a devoted parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where for many years he had served as head usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

During the 1960s Mr. Laverick was a Sellersville Borough councilman. In the 1970s he had volunteered for many years as a Little League treasurer and coach.

After retirement, Molly and Rich enjoyed several bus trips throughout the U.S. and dinner out several times a week.

A bright, hardworking man, Rich worked diligently so that his family would have a good life and his children would get college degrees. Family and faith were the themes that guided his life. He adored his family and was able to recognize them to the end, despite debilitating dementia. Rich will be remembered by all who knew him as a nice, kind man and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Laverick is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Laverick-Stone (Rod Stone); two sons, Richard Laverick (partner Ron Cohen) and Timothy Laverick (Despina Laverick); beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Theodore Harrington IV (Melissa Konecny), Timothy Laverick Jr., Nicholas Laverick, Elizabeth Stone, William Stone, Jr. (Alison Stone), Robert Stone (fiancé Erin Siegfried), Theodore Harrington V, Benjamin Harrington, William R.
