Helen K. Landes, of Quakertown, formerly of Perkasie, passed away in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, on Saturday, October 5, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Wilmer S. Landes for 73 years. She was 95.
Born in Tylersport, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Katie (Krause) Yerk.
Helen had been employed by the former C.D. Moyer Co., Silverdale for many years.
Mrs. Landes was a member of Christ Community Bible Church, Perkasie.
A fantastic cook, Helen especially enjoyed baking. She also liked pinochle, crocheting, and word search puzzles. She and her husband had also enjoyed traveling. Always with a bright smile on her face, she delighted in spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs.Landes is survived by her daughter, Corinne A. Coles, of Quakertown; a granddaughter, Melissa Morris, and a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Hughart; a sister, Ruth Gross, of Telford, and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by four sisters: Miriam Yerk, Eva Steeley, Bessie Heffendrager, and Edna Halteman and a brother, Wilmer Yerk.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 11, in Christ Community Bible Church, 1830 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Interment will follow in Zion Memorial Gardens, Telford.
