John Kuczma, 87, a long-time resident of Telford, formerly of Philadelphia, died at his residence on Sunday morning, September 4, 2011. He was the husband of Kathryn "Kitty" (Erdman) Kuczma for 64 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Katherine (Zin) Kuczma.
John was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
For most of his adult life, Mr. Kuczma was employed as a cement mason by Eastern Gunite, Inc., formerly of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, retiring in 1987. He had worked for many years on the Holtwood Dam in Lancaster County.
John was a 60 consecutive-year-member of the Juniata Park Memorial American Legion Post 738, Philadelphia.
In his spare time, Mr. Kuczma enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his two sisters, Angela Birl and Veronica McHugh.
His memorial service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011, at 6:00 PM in Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. There are no calling hours. The family will greet visitors after the service.
