Mary E. (Mohs) Kraynik

September 12, 1966 — November 3, 2009

Mary E. Kraynik, 43, of Sellersville, formerly of Warminster, passed away at her residence after a courageous battle with breast cancer, on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. She was the beloved wife of George Kraynik, Jr., to whom she was married 18 years.

Born in Warminster, she was a daughter of William F. Mohs, Jamison, and the late Patricia (Ahrens) Mohs. She was also the step-daughter of Mary Mohs, Jamison.

A graduate of William Tennent High School, Mary attended Temple University before graduating as class valedictorian from Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia.

She had been employed for many years as an ICU nurse at Frankford Hospital-Torresdale, Philadelphia.

Mrs. Kraynik was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where she was a former CCD teacher.

A "football Mom," Mary especially enjoyed watching her children play sports. She was also an avid reader.

In addition to her husband, father, and step-mother, Mrs. Kraynik is survived by her three sons: Shane W. Kraynik, Matthew D. Kraynik, and Stephen G. Kraynik, all of Selllersville; siblings: William Mohs, of Fayetteville, NC; Jennifer Baughman, of Hatboro; Edward Mohs, of Jamison; and Patricia Crossan, of Warminster; a step-brother, John Bowman, of Elkins Park; and her mother-in-law, Jean Kraynik, of Roslyn. She will also be missed by her cat, "Sammy."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call on Sunday night, November 8, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, and at the church on Monday morning, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Educational Fund for Mary’s Three Sons, c/o Harleysville National Bank, 209 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
