Adeline F. Kratz, 99, formerly of Horsham and Perkasie, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in the Artman Lutheran Home, Ambler. She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Kratz, who died in 1990.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Mary (Evans) Ford. Adeline was a graduate of Frankford High School for Girls, Philadelphia.
A homemaker most of her life, she had been employed in the credit department of Sears, Philadelphia. In the early 1950’s, she and her husband had also owned and operated the former Royalette Luncheonette, Perkasie.
Adeline was a Lutheran.
She loved knitting and crocheting and doing puzzles.
Mrs. Kratz is survived by her son, William L. Kratz, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Oreland; six grandchildren: William V. Z. Wilson, IV; Karen Gillis; Maureen McIlvaine; Jill Scheetz; William L. Kratz, III; David J. Kratz; nine great-grandchildren: William V. Z. Wilson, V; Kevin Wilson; Lauren Gillis; Ryan Gillis; Katelyn Scheetz; Gretchen Scheetz; David Kratz; Julianna Kratz; Megan Kratz; two sisters: Jeannette Sewell, of Hilltown; Phyllis Depp, of New Jersey; and a favorite niece, Nancy Snyder, of Perkasie.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Wilson, who died in 1986; a grandson, David Wilson; four brothers: Carl, John, Edward, and Grover, Jr.; and three sisters: Grace, Alice, and Helen.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 23, at 11:00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
