Jean E. Kolb, formerly a long-time resident of Telford, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2019, in Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale. She was 85.
She had shared 67 years of marriage with Ralph F. Kolb, marking their anniversary on August 9.
Born in Hatfield, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Sarah Louise (Godshall) Scholl.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Kolb had also been employed in a variety of positions, from selling Avon for several years when her children were young to working in the sausage room at Hatfield Quality Meats, Hatfield. She had also run a butter pat machine at Keller’s Creamery, Harleysville, worked as a waitress at R&S Keystone Diner, Hatfield, and formatted lead type settings for rings and yearbooks at Jostens, Souderton.
She was a member of Little Zion Lutheran Church, Telford and formerly a member of Leidy’s Reformed Church, Souderton.
Jean and Ralph relocated to Mansfield, PA in 1984. They were also “snowbirds,” spending 16 happy winter seasons in Brooksville, Florida.
An avid cook, Jean especially enjoyed baking. Her family remembers her as “always in the kitchen.”
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kolb is survived by her children, Ralph Edward Kolb and his wife, Brenda, of Perkasie, and Sandra Louise Ziegler and her husband, Robert, of Troy, PA; four grandchildren, Sara Ziegler, of Chambersburg, PA, Kelly Lisachenko and her husband, Greg, of Center Valley, Brian Kolb, of Harleysville, and Douglas Kolb and his wife, Hilary, of Silverdale; and two great-grandchildren, Josephina Lisachenko and Anastasia Lisachenko.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Her memorial service will be held at 12 PM, Sunday, September 15, at Little Zion Lutheran Church, 267 Morwood Road, Telford, PA 18969 with a social time following the service. PLEASE NOTE: PUT "799 BERGEY ROAD" INTO YOUR GPS TO BE ROUTED CORRECTLY TO LITTLE ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH.
