Helen Knickerbocker, 88, a Perkasie resident since 1981, formerly of Quakertown, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 22 at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township.
Born in Bally, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Rohrbach) Eck.
An expert seamstress, Mrs. Knickerbocker was employed at several area pants factories, in Milford Square and Quakertown. She also worked in a dress factory in Perkasie. For over fifty years, she operated a highly successful dressmaking business with many devoted clients.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.
A hard worker throughout her life, Helen found leisure time enjoyment with crocheting and gardening. She especially loved all kinds of flowers.
She is survived by two daughters: Irene Knickerbocker, Trumbauersville, and Janet L. Knickerbocker, Perkasie.
Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 26 at 1:00 PM in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue and Chestnut Street, Perkasie. A private interment will be conducted in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building & Renovation Fund of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 257, Perkasie, PA 18944.
