Peter R. Hufnagle, Sr., 72, of Sellersville, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Stephanie (Wilhelm) Hufnagle for 45 years. He would have celebrated his 73rd birthday on November 30.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late William and Anne (Groves) Hufnagle.
Mr. Hufnagle was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Europe when President John F. Kennedy made a special visit to Pete’s assignment area.
For many years, Pete owned and operated a landscaping business, Hufnagle Landscaping, in the Sellersville area. He also did tree removals, mulching, and mowing.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1539 and the American Legion Nase-Kraft Post 255, both of Sellersville. Pete also was an Honor Roll member of the Sellersville Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Hufnagle had been a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by three sons; one brother; one sister; and his beloved dogs, "Max" and "Johann."
His Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in the Sellersville Fire House, 2 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. There are no calling hours.
Interment will be private.
