Thomas A. Houser

Thomas A. Houser, 62, of Doylestown, formerly of Hilltown and Whippany, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Daggett) Houser. They were married for 39 years.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Francis and Betty (Fogel) Houser. A 1964 graduate of Clifford J. Scott High School, East Orange, New Jersey, he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford, New Jersey.

Tom had been employed for the last 10 years with CENLAR, Ewing, New Jersey. Prior to that, he was employed with EDS Corporation, King of Prussia, for several years. He had also been employed previously for 10 years at Sandoz, East Hanover, New Jersey, and for 20 years at Hoffman LaRoche, Nutley, New Jersey.

Mr. Houser enjoyed martial arts, hunting, fishing, and camping. Most especially, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott Houser, of Doylestown; a daughter, Kim Snyder, and her husband, Donald, of Quakertown; two grandchildren: Donald Snyder, III, and Alexis Snyder, both of Quakertown; and several extended family friends.

His Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning, February 9, 2009, at 12:00 P.M. in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, February 8, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and on Monday morning from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.

Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either The Heart Institute, Doylestown Hospital, Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 or to Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
