Edna Hoff, 86, a life-long resident of Perkasie, entered into rest Thursday morning, August 14, at Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown. She was the beloved wife of William Hoff for 55 years, until his death in 2003.
Born in Perkasie, she was a daughter of the late William B. and Florence C. (Gerhart) Wenhold. She was a graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Class of 1941.
During the 1950’s Mrs. Hoff had been employed at Snyder’s Cigar Factory, Perkasie for several years. She later worked at the former A & G Pants, Perkasie, from which she retired in 1986.
She was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where, along with her husband, she had served on the kitchen committee.
Mrs. Hoff enjoyed reading, sewing, yard work, sunbathing, and walking. She especially loved traveling with her husband and extended family to New Jersey shore resorts, Wisconsin, Hawaii, and Canada.
She was a devoted and generous aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hoff is survived by her brother,William W. Wenhold, Sellersville; two sisters, Beulah Taylor, Sellersville; Grace Wenhold, Perkasie; two sisters-in-law, Amanda Slifer and Freida Godshall, both of Sellersville; two brothers-in-law, Fred Hoff, Sellersville; Harvey Hoff, Bartonsville, PA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Wenhold, and a sister, Pearl Moyer.
Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 18, at 11:00 AM in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the address above.
