Dorothy "Dottie" (Mecray) Hess
January 24, 1943 — September 3, 2013
Dorothy "Dottie" L. Hess, of Jim Thorpe, formerly of Souderton, passed away suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. She was the wife of James Hess for 48 years. She was 70.
Born in New Hope, she was the daughter of the late James, Sr. and Rebecca (Lundgren) Mecray.
Mrs. Hess had worked in the electronics field for over 50 years.
Dottie possessed a love for life and her family that truly defined her. She was always laughing and knew how to make others laugh to brighten the day.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hess is survived by her daughter, Tammy Deloach, and her husband, Ian, of Gilbertsville; three grandchildren: Bridgette, Brittany, and Owen Deloach; a sister, Sue Overbaugh, and her husband, Harry, of Hilltown; and a brother, James Mecray, Jr., and his wife, Elnora, of Lansdale.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dottie’s name may be made to the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960 to help defray expenses.
