James L. “Jim” Henshaw, 68, of Telford (Hilltown Township), passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, in Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Fitzsimmons) Henshaw for 45 years.
Born in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Gerald L. and Verna (Benning) Henshaw Shearer.
Mr. Henshaw graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy and later earned a Master’s degree in Astrophysics from Cornell University.
After the Henshaws moved to Pennsylvania in 2002, Jim had been employed as a realtor for Century 21, Keller Williams, and Help-U-Sell. Prior to that, he had been employed for 19 years as the treasurer/administrator for the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg, Hamburg, New York.
Jim had also been the owner and operator of Desktop Publishing, in Hamburg, and Colden Computer Consultant, in Colden, NY. He had also worked at the Allegheny Rehab Center, of Olean, NY; BOLD (Buffalo Online Data), a medical billing firm; and Global Outreach Mission, as an information technology technician, both based in Buffalo, NY.
Mr. Henshaw was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Harleysville.
Since 1980, he had been a member of Gideons International. Since 2003, he had also been a member of NACBA (National Association of Church Business Administrators).
An avid reader and coin collector, Jim enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching TV game shows, especially “Jeopardy.” Known as a “jokester,” Jim’s dry sense of humor will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: William H. Henshaw and his wife, Jessica; David J. Henshaw, all of Telford; Benjamin L. Henshaw, of Boothwyn; four grandchildren: Joshua; Caleb; Ariana; and Alexandra; a sister, Sally A.
