Glenn H. Hartman, Sr., of the Lutheran Community at Telford, formerly a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, in Holy Redeemer Hospital, Meadowbrook, PA. He was 92.
He was the beloved husband of Arlene (Strouse) Hartman. They had just observed their 65th wedding anniversary on June 7.
Born in Sellersville, Glenn was the son of the late Samuel and Clara (Wambold) Hartman. He was a 1948 graduate of Sell-Perk High School.
Mr. Hartman was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
Glenn had been employed by the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., of Sellersville, for over 40 years, retiring in 1993.
Mr. Hartman was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where he had sung in the choir and served on the Property Team.
Glenn was a member of the American Legion Hartzell-Crouthamel, Post 280, of Perkasie, where he volunteered with their cemetery rifle honors squad.
Always physically active, Glenn had enjoyed boating, water skiing, roller skating, roller blading, snowmobiling, skiing, and playing shuffleboard. He continued to bowl throughout his life while also following the Philadelphia Phillies and traveling with his wife. He loved to follow weather conditions, and he was always eager to discuss them.
A talented musician, Glenn had played the piano and organ and been a member of the former Bucks-Mont Organ Club. Glenn was also active with the North Penn Barbershop Quartet for many years.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hartman is survived by his daughter, Barbara Nemecek, and her husband, James, of Sellersville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Hartman, Jr.; his brother, Millard V. Hartman; and his sister, Lola Valarie Adamson.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 22, in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment with military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
