Dolores J. Hamilton, 87, of Perkasie, formerly of Warminster and Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15, 2010, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the wife of the late William J. Hamilton, II, who died in 2000, and the late Francis P. Lynskey, who died in 1969.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Marie (Gregory) Heck. She was a graduate of Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School and became a registered nurse at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, both of Philadelphia.
A U.S. Navy WAVES veteran, Mrs. Hamilton had served in the situation room of the Philadelphia Naval Yard during World War II.
She had been employed as a registered nurse in the area for many years. Most recently, Dolores was the office manager and proofreader for her family’s medical transcription business.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where she was active with the Silver and Gold Club and CYAA. She had also served on the Altar Committee and helped to make rosaries.
Dolores is survived by her two daughters: Kathleen Ennis, and her husband, Gordon, of Cos Cob, CT; and Mary Anne Lynskey, of Perkasie; two sons: Francis X. Lynskey, of East Greenville; and Daniel M. Lynskey, of Perkasie; three step-children: Marylou Holloway, and her husband, Thomas, of Horsham; William J. Hamilton, III, and his wife, Linda, of Scottsdale, AZ; and Michael D. Hamilton, of New York, NY; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marie Meehan; two brothers: Stephen Heck and Anthony Heck; and a step-son, Robert J. Hamilton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 11:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call Saturday morning at the church, from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Sellersville.
