Virginia D. Hager, 83, formerly a long-time resident of Perkasie, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011, at her residence in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township. She was the wife of Willard G. Hager. They had just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on April 28.
Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Viola (Shaddinger) Wimmer.
A homemaker for most of her life, Virginia had been employed with the former Royal Pants, Perkasie, and C. D. Moyer, Silverdale. She had also worked for the U.S. Gauge, Sellersville.
She was a lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie. She had also volunteered, along with her husband, at the Rockhill Mennonite Community after re-locating there a few years ago.
Virginia was a quiet and kind woman of great faith. She was truly a child of God.
In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her daughter, Kathy J. Green, and her husband, Lt. Mark R. Green, USN; and two grandsons, Noah and Kevin, all of Okinawa, Japan.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Benner.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, May 25, 2011, at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue and Chestnut Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
