David Wayne Haffley, 66, of Perkasie, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township.
He was the beloved husband of Beulah "Bea" (Landis) Haffley for 42 years.
Born in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Lloyd Edward and Leola Alberta (Wetzel) Haffley. Dave had attended Bald Eagle Nittany High School, Mill Hall.
Mr. Haffley was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam era.
He was employed for 27 years in the maintenance department at the former R. T. French Company, Hatfield.
An avid Phillies fan, Dave also loved hunting and fishing. He built furniture, collected, and sold antiques. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his hunting cabin in Clinton County. "Pappy" especially cherished his walks on the Ocean City beach with his two granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Haffley is survived by his three children: Troy Haffley, of Sellersville; Terri Hughes; and Todd Haffley, both of Perkasie; two granddaughters: Emily and Katelyn; and three brothers: Frank Haffley, of Perkasie; Paul Haffley, and his wife, Naomi, of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania; and Carl Haffley, and his wife, Linda, of Salem, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister, Elinor Couzens.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening, November 15, from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and on Tuesday morning, from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
