José Antonio Guzmán, 67, of Telford, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at his residence.
Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Esmeraldo and Carmen (Tirado) Guzmán.
Mr. Guzmán was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
José had been employed as a factory worker at several local companies, including the former American Olean Tile, of Lansdale, and Leidy’s, of Souderton.
He had enjoyed playing baseball, softball, and basketball in his younger years.
José was a big-hearted person, kind and generous to everyone he met.
Mr. Guzmán is survived by his five daughters: Millie Janet Nuñez, of Melbourne, Florida; Ivis Candelario Guzmán, of New York City; Jomaira Guzmán, of Souderton; Natanya Cressman; and Sierra Cressman, both of Virginia; two sons: Andrew Joseph Guzmán, of Afghanistan; and Ariel Guzmán, of Souderton; and six grandchildren: Kristian Guzmán, of Illinois; Terrell Cressman, of Pennsylvania; Zsoelle Cressman; Miya Cressman, both of Virginia; Christian Candelario; and Chelsea Candelario, both of New York City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, José A. Guzmán, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 8:00 PM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until time of service.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family in care of the Funeral Home at the above address.
