Myron Saylor Gunning

Myron Saylor Gunning, 58, of Sellersville, formerly of Chalfont, passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2013, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Howard) Wenhold Gunning.

Born in Norristown, he was the son of Eugenia (Given) Gunning and the late William Samuel Gunning.

Mr. Gunning had been employed as an auto mechanic in Quakertown and Chestnut Hill for 30 years. He had also worked at Pine Run Community, in Doylestown for several years.

He had been a member of Calvary Church, Souderton.

An avid gardener, Myron also loved surf fishing and the ocean. He had always wanted to raise chickens so that the family could have fresh eggs. A true mechanic at heart, he could repair almost anything.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Gunning is survived by his children: Jesse Gunning and his wife, Tara; Timothy Gunning and his wife, Grace; Renée Skelly and her husband, Bryan; Brenden Wenhold; Christopher Wenhold; and Derek Wenhold; eight grandchildren: Leia, Dylan, Sophia, Tyler, Mackenzie, Brody, Jesse, Jr., and Liam; a brother, William Gunning, and his wife, Celeste; two sisters: Bona Gerhart and Theresa Bannon and her husband, Keith; and his cat “Marley.”

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cotti Gunning, and his cat, “Stewart.”

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 9, in Calvary Church, 820 Souderton Road, Souderton, PA 18964. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday morning at the church.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
