Alfred B. Gross

Alfred B. Gross, 87, a resident of Franconia Township for 57 years, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, September 24, 2009, at Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Yerk) Gross for 59 years.

Born in Hilltown Township, he was the son of the late Robert and Hannah (Bishop) Gross.

Mr. Gross had worked for 41 years as a loader at the former American Olean Tile, Lansdale, before retiring in 1987.

Al loved to collect and restore two-cylinder John Deere tractors. He also enjoyed going to auctions and gardening.

He was a long-time member of Valley View Bible Church, Telford, where he was active with the seniors group.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Gross is survived by his children: Timothy Scott Gross, and his wife, Margaret, of East Greenville; and Carol Sue Gross, of Souderton; and two grandsons: Scott Michael Gross and Matthew Ryan Gross.

He was preceded in death by his brother, J. Paul Gross.

His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at 11:00 AM in Valley View Bible Church, 315 Barndt Road, Telford, PA 18969.

Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family in New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ Cemetery, East Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Bible Church, at the address above.
