Peter E. Gradel

Peter E. Gradel, of Quakertown, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was 59.
He was the beloved husband of Christie (Parsons) Gradel for 10 years.
Born in Huntingdon Valley, he was the son of Francis and Marie (Rock) Gradel, of Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Peter was a 1975 graduate of Lower Moreland High School.
Mr. Gradel had been employed for many years in the warehouse of Tyndale USA, Pipersville.
An avid surfer and skateboarder as a young man, Peter had loved spending summers on Long Beach Island, where he had worked as a lifeguard. More recently, he had also enjoyed walking, riding his Harley Davidson, and taking care of his lawn and woodstove.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his four children: Jordan Gradel and his wife Rosa, of Jensen Beach, FL; Justin Gradel and his wife Jessica, of Harleysville; Kimberly Gradel and her fiancé, Brian Urffer, of Bethlehem; and Amber Gradel, of Quakertown; and two step-children, Dan Benninghoff, of Berwyn; and Jennifer Loy and her husband Tim, of Sarasota, FL.
He is also survived by five grandchildren: AJ, River, Hayla, Ellie, and Kaleigh; five step-grandchildren: Lauren, Eislyn, Jesse, Jameson, and Kellan; a brother, Francis Gradel, and his wife Marj, of Plumsteadville; a sister, Marianne Williams, and her husband Dave, of Long Beach Island; and his first wife, Karen Debman Gradel, of Quakertown.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 24, at McCoole’s Arts & Events Place, 10 South Main Street, Quakertown, PA 18951. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in care of the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
