Alverda K. (Kratz) Gerhart

Alverda K. Gerhart, 89, of the Rockhill Mennonite Commuity, West Rockhill Township, formerly of Skippack, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Francis K. Gerhart, who died in August 2008.

Born in Upper Gwynedd on December 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Irwin and Lydia (Fisher) Kratz.

Mrs. Gerhart was a homemaker for most of her life.

She had attended Berean Bible Church in Pottstown.

Alverda and her late husband moved into the Rockhill Mennonite Community in 1999.

She is survived by a foster son, John Cichocki, of Maine; a foster daughter, Barbara (Cichocki) Schwenk, of Virgina; three sisters: Verna Lindsay, of Quakertown; Florence Kronberg; and Elsie Gerhart, both of Lansdale; one brother, Ellis Kratz, of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Melvin Kratz; three sisters: Erma Kratz; Mabel Krupp; and Idella Kriebel; and a foster son, Walter Cichocki.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville. There are no calling hours.
