Elaine May Freed, a long-time resident of Perkasie, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Doylestown Hospital. She was 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late Willard D. Freed for 60 years until his death in 2011.
Born in West Rockhill Township, she was the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Anna (Snyder) Beck. Elaine was a 1946 graduate of Sell-Perk High School and a 1947 graduate of Lansdale School of Business.
Mrs. Freed had been employed as a school secretary at three schools in the Pennridge School District from 1965 until her retirement. Prior to her marriage, Elaine had worked for five years as a secretary at the Doylestown Courthouse.
Elaine was a long-time member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.
Mrs. Freed was also a regular volunteer at Pennridge FISH, Perkasie.
In her free time, Elaine had enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She most loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Freed is survived by her two daughters: Terri Baker, and her husband, William, of Perkasie, and Bonnie Stickl, and her husband, Paul, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, four grandchildren: Stephanie Weachter, and her husband, Matthew, Rachel Ortiz, and her husband, Daniel, Gabriella Stickl, and Jared Stickl; three great-granddaughters: Maci Weachter, Brooklyn Ortiz, and Natalia Ortiz; and a great-grandson, Ty Weachter.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, June 24, at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a viewing will be held from 10 AM until time of service.
Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
