Ernest A. Feusner, a long-time resident of Perkasie, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, in the Souderton Mennonite Homes. He was 84.
He was the beloved husband of L. Jean (Kallensee) Feusner. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in July.
Born in Lansdale on the family farm and raised there, Ernie was the son of the late Jacob L. and Margaret (Seitz) Feusner. He attended North Penn High School.
Ernie had been employed for many years as the driver of a refrigeration delivery truck for Alderfer Meats, in Harleysville. Prior to that, he had worked for the former American Olean Tile Company, in Lansdale, and the former Standard Pressed Steel Company, of Hatfield.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie for more than 50 years, where he had always happily claimed “his” seat in the third row from the back every Sunday.
An avid bowler in his younger years, Ernie had been a member of a league with his co-workers. He enjoyed weekly breakfast gatherings with friends at the Keystone Diner and casino trips to Atlantic City and the Sands.
He also loved to garden, concentrating on his vegetable plots and flower beds. Going to flea markets and auctions and antiquing were other pleasures, but he especially enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Feusner is survived by his three children: Terry Feusner and his wife, Amy, of Quakertown, Lori Canning and her husband, Russ, and Karen Force and her husband, Greg, all of Perkasie; six grandchildren: Tara Canning, Krystal Trinkle and her husband, Cody, Kayla Feusner, Daniel Feusner, Ryan Force, and Kyle Force; and two great-grandchildren, Emmy Trinkle and Austin Trinkle.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jacob, John, and George, and a sister, Florence.
His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 19, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Feusner’s name may be made to St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at the address above.
