Barbara Jean Ewaniuk

Barbara Jean “Jeanie” Ewaniuk, 73, of Sellersville, formerly of Emmaus, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, in Hidden Meadows on the Ridge, West Rockhill Township.

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Lockard, Sr. and the late Helen Mae (Hardy) Lockard Davenport. She was a graduate of Pennridge High School.

Jeanie had been employed for 20 years as an assembly technician at Henderson Industries, Bethlehem.

An avid gardener, Jeanie had also enjoyed walking, going to the beach, and playing Bingo. She most loved spending time with her six grandchildren and great-grandson.

She is survived by her three children: Jean Elizabeth Schroy and her husband, Brian, of Quakertown, Sandra Lynn Fegely and her husband, Jay, of Bonneau, SC, and David John Simmons, Jr. and his fiancée, Julie Coppie, of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren: Brandon Schroy and Kirsten Schroy, both of Quakertown, Samantha Simmons, of Perkasie, Sebastian Fegely and Bailey Fegely, both of West Ashley, SC, and Xander Simmons, of Charleston, SC; and a great-grandson, Emmett Simmons, of Perkasie.

Jeanie is also survived by three sisters: Beverly Azzalina and Joanne Lockard, both of Perkasie, and Cheryl Herb, of Easton; and five brothers: James Lockard, of Schwenksville, Paul Lockard, of Lancaster, Thomas Mimlitsch, of Easton, David Mimlitsch, of Bethlehem, and Francis Mimlitsch, of Effort.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Overpeck and Benita Logan; three brothers: Robert Beehler, Kenneth Lockard, Jr., and James Mimlitsch; and her stepmother, Betty Lockard.

Her memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, March 25, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until time of service.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
