Mary Demanczyk, 94, a life-long resident of Shenandoah, entered into eternal life at her daughter’s home in Perkasie, on Friday, August 21, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Demanczyk, who died on September 6, 1983.
Born in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Chowansky) Smetana.
Mrs. Demanczyk had been self-employed as a hairdresser all of her life.
She was a life-long member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Irene Sipes, of Perkasie; a grandson, Michael Sipes, and his wife, Sallie; a great-granddaughter, Julia Sipes, all of Souderton; her sister, Dorothy Matera, and her husband, John, of Allentown; and her son-in-law, Richard Sipes.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Raddie; and three brothers: Stephen, Joseph, and Michael Smetana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM.
Interment will be in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
