Eileen C. Cunningham, a longtime resident of Sellersville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township. She was 89.
She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Cunningham for 50 years until his death in 2005.
Born in Centralia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Mekosh) Kovalick. Eileen was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, Mt. Carmel, PA.
Primarily a homemaker and devoted to her children and grandchildren, Eileen most loved spending time with her family. She always affectionately identified them as “our Michael,” “our Judy,” “our Eileen,” and “our David.”
Mrs. Cunningham had worked part-time at a variety of positions over the years, including at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, in the Central Supplies Department; Midgard Inc., in Green Lane; the former American Olean Tile, Lansdale; and Kohl’s, Hatfield. Her children also fondly recall her sewing baseball covers in the family basement for the former Dudley Sports Company, of Perkasie.
Eileen was a long-time faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she was active with the Silver and Gold Club.
A gifted, creative floral arranger, she also enjoyed writing encouraging notes to friends and shopping for thoughtful gifts for others. Day trips with her husband and time spent at the beach were other favorite pastimes.
Mrs. Cunningham is survived by her children: Michael Cunningham and his wife, Debra, of Philadelphia; Judy Laudenslager and her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Gretchen, of Quakertown; Eileen Mills and her husband, Raymond, of Allentown, NJ; and David Cunningham and his wife, Teresa, and their children, Ariana and Bryce, of Chalfont; and two sisters: Theresa Ciocco and her husband, Jerry, and Maryann Lorant and her husband, Jimmy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 30, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, with a visitation from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m.
Interment in Sellersville Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Cunningham’s name may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church at the address above or to a charity of one’s choice.
