Robert B. Coll

Robert B. Coll, of Sellersville, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was 83.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Philip H. and Helen (Magargal) Coll. Bobby was a 1957 graduate of Pennridge High School.

Mr. Coll had been employed by the Sellersville Public Works Department for more than 32 years, retiring in the early 1990s.

Bobby was a life-time member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where he had worked as a custodian, served on Church Council, and had, for many years, cooked and served a monthly luncheon for congregational members after services.

He was a life member and past assistant fire chief of the Sellersville Fire Department, where he had organized and cooked for the annual SFD Breakfasts. Bobby was also the official French fries cook at the yearly SFD Carnivals. He was also a past chief of the North Penn Goodwill Services, of Souderton.

Bobby was an avid sports fan, devotedly following all of the Philadelphia teams. A talented hardball player as a young man, he had continued his love of the game in later years by playing softball in several fast pitch leagues, including the church league and an industrial fast pitch league at a local gun club. Bobby also loved camping, especially at various Delaware and Maryland shore points.

Mr. Coll is survived by his three children: Steven R. Coll and his wife, Deborah, of Souderton, Tracey McElhare and her husband, Harry, of Sellersville, and Sherri Campbell and her husband, Terry, of Landenberg, PA; six grandchildren: Matthew Coll, Jessica Garges, Ashley McElhare, Sean McElhare, Meghan Campbell, and Nicholas Campbell; and three great-grandchildren: Hailie Coll, Harper Coll, and Josie Garges.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard D. Coll, in 2021.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 4, in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
