Christina E. (Harris) Close

June 12, 1920 — June 5, 2012

Christina E. Close, of the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township, formerly of North Wales, entered into rest on Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Ralph W. Close for 68 years, until his death in February of this year. She was 91.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Frank W., Jr. and Jennie (Breckenridge) Harris.

Mrs. Close was a homemaker.

A resident at Rockhill for 10 years, Mrs. Close was one of the Community’s “Nutty Knitters.” Along with her husband, she had also volunteered at the Community and had sung in the choir.

Mrs. Close had been a long-time active member of Grace Baptist Church, of Blue Bell.

Christina enjoyed sewing and making clothes. She was a talented knitter and also created lovely needlepoint, embroidery, and crafts. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Close is survived by her two sons: Steven F. Close and his wife Joanne, of Harleysville; David F. Close and his wife, Susannne, of Quakertown; five grandchildren: Tara; Stephanie; Jennifer; Kevin; and Geena; and two great-grandchildren: Logan and Emma.

In addition to her husband, Christina was preceded in death by three brothers: Frank, Charles, and John Harris.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 11, 2012, in the Rockhill Mennonite Community Chapel, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a calling hour will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

Interment will be held in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rockhill Mennonite Community, 3250 State Road, Sellersvillle, PA 18960.
