Helen K. Class, 92, formerly of Sellersville and Aaronsburg (Centre County), passed away Monday morning, January 28, at her residence in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of James Creighton Class, who died in 1989, to whom she was married for over 55 years.
Born in Lansdale, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Shay) Croll.
Helen had been employed at the former Dex Dale Hosiery Mill, Lansdale, then as a waitress for many years at the Roy Ann Diner, Sellersville. She had been self-employed, along with her husband, at their family produce stand in Hilltown Township, and later they owned and operated an antiques business in Aaronsburg.
Helen enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and going to yard sales and auctions. The joy of her life was spending time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her five children: June Melcher and her husband, Robert, Fountainville; Jim Class and his wife, Connie, Sellersville; Emilie Pekar, Sellersville; Alice Moore and her husband, Harry, Philadelphia, NY; and Polly Moore and her husband, Dennis, Sellersville; two brothers: Nelson Croll, Lansdale and John Croll, Tylersport; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law, Elke Allen, Chalfont.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Croll.
Graveside Services and interment will be held Friday, February 1, at 11:00 AM in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville. There are no calling hours.
