Elizabeth Anne (Skau) Clarke

February 5, 1956 — July 16, 2008

Elizabeth “Beth” Anne (Skau) Clarke, 52, of Hatfield, formerly of Holland Township, NJ and Danbury, CT, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 16, at Central Montgomery Medical Center, Lansdale. She was the beloved wife of David Scott Clarke. They were married for 24 years.

Born in Clinton, CT, she was a daughter of Betsy (Willard) Skau Cote and her husband, John, Clinton, CT and the late Carsten Morton Skau.

Beth was a 1974 graduate of Morgan High School, Clinton, CT. In 1979 she graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education.

She was currently on the staff at Upper Bucks Christian School, Sellersville, teaching math, science, and history. Beth previously taught in schools in Georgia and Connecticut.

Mrs. Clarke was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville, where she had volunteered with the children’s ministry and the primary church program.

A loving wife and mother, Beth was dedicated to the care and well-being of her family. Her church and school life were very important to her.

She enjoyed collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son: William Scott Clarke, Hatfield; three brothers: Gary Skau and his wife, Becky, New Holland, PA; Vernon Skau and his wife, Tammy, Old Saybrook, CT; Tom Skau and his wife, Jenn, Corinth, NY; and her mother-in-law, Ann Clarke, Lunenburg, MA.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 7:00 PM in Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening at the church from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM. Interment will be in Indian River Cemetery, Clinton, CT the following day.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Bethel Christian Education Trust Fund , Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville, PA 18960.
