Richard L. Clark, a long-time resident of Sellersville, went Home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 24, 2015, at his residence after a long, valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 69.
He was the beloved husband of Diane (Eister) Clark, with whom he had recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of Rhoda (Rickert) Clark, of Sellersville and the late Edwin P. Clark, Sr.
Rich had most recently been employed as the Transportation Director for Bethel Baptist Church and the Upper Bucks Christian School, Sellersville. Previously, he had worked as a computer programming consultant.
Mr. Clark was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he had taught Sunday school, served as a Deacon, and volunteered with the Bus Ministry.
Rich, a true “Mr. Fix-it,” could repair anything. With his wife, he had participated in 15 short-term building mission projects with the church.
Mr. Clark most enjoyed spending time with his family. A man of character and great faith, he had an open, generous heart that enabled him to treat everyone like family. He will be sorely missed by many.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his three children: Dawn G. Schlichter and her husband, Dean, of Boyertown; Duane R. Clark and his wife, Teresa, of Palmer, Alaska; and Dana R. Clark, currently teaching at the William Carey Academy, Bangladesh. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Johnathan, Jessica, Julia, Joyanna, and Joshua; three brothers: James Clark, of Sellersville; Gerald Clark and his wife, Barbara, of Phillips, Wisconsin; and Donald Clark and his wife, Cynthia, of Seven Valleys, PA; a sister-in-law, Joanne Clark, of Sellersville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin P. Clark, Jr., and a niece, Deborah Clark.
His memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, at Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville, PA 18960. There will be no calling hours. Following the service, the family will greet friends at a reception.
