Maurice (“Reese”) H. Carr, 80, of Quakertown, formerly of Germantown and Sellersville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Betty Ann (Markley) Carr. They were married for 55 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Earl and Frances (Lattemann) Carr.
He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.
He had been employed for 38 years as a tool inspector for the former Leeds and Northrup, North Wales, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Carr was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville, where he had taught Sunday School. Throughout his life in previous ministries, he had served the Lord faithfully as a choir member, deacon, trustee, and board member.
A loving husband, father, and “Pop- Pop”, Reese was dedicated to the care and well-being of his family.
He loved all sports, especially bowling, softball, and darts, participating in company and church leagues. He also enjoyed football, holding an Eagles season ticket for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Thomas M. and his wife, Rhonda, of Newtown; Jo Ann Delp and her husband, Timothy, of Quakertown; Susan McClure and her husband, David, of Barto; ten grandchildren: Kevin T., Emily, Stephanie, Kevin S., Thomas, Joseph, Sarah, Katherine, John, Benjamin; two great-grandsons: Bennett and Nolan; and one brother: Earl Carr, Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Noone, and a brother, Donald Carr.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 21, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.
