M. Margaret "Peg" Bruzas, 90, formerly of Perkasie, passed away peacefully at her residence Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert G. Bruzas, who died in 1986.
Born in Blooming Glen, she was a daughter of the late Peter D. and Aquilla (Moyer) Benner. She was a 1938 graduate of Sell-Perk High School.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Bruzas had been employed for many years as a cafeteria worker at the Perkasie Elementary School on Seventh Street. During World War II, she had also worked at the U.S. Gauge, Sellersville.
Peg was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie. She had also been a member of the Perkasie Historical Society, the Pennridge Community Senior Center, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary.
She had served as a Cub Scout den mother. Peg was also an avid reader.
Mrs. Bruzas is survived by her two sons: Victor D. Bruzas, and his wife, Victoria, of Perkasie; and Alan G. Bruzas, and his wife, Kimberly, of Hilltown; a granddaughter, Abigail N. Bruzas, of Hilltown; and a brother, Robert Benner, of Sellersville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde Benner, Leroy Benner, and Woodrow Benner; and a sister, Virginia Mann.
Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 11:00 AM in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Music Program of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, at the address above.
