Ronald A. Brown

Ronald A. Brown, of Sellersville, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014, in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. He was 79.

He was the beloved husband of Marilyn F. (Fickinger) Brown for 57 years.

Born in Erie, he was the son of the late Cecil W. Brown and the late Dorothy (Schlegel) Brown Evans.

In 1957, Ron graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, with a Bachelors degree in Economics and Psychology. He was also a pitcher on the baseball team.

Mr. Brown began his professional career in retail, managing stores for G. C. Murphy Company in several states for 22 years. Later, he developed yarn and notions for mass merchants for B. Blumenthal Company and the National Spinning Company, both of New York City. Most recently, he had worked as a substitute teacher for Faith Christian Academy, Sellersville.

An avid baseball fan, Ron enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates on TV.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David A. Brown, and his wife, Donna, of Annandale, NJ; a daughter, Carole S. McArtney, and her husband, Jack, of Basking Ridge, NJ; and four grandchildren: Katie L.
McArtney, Mallory L. Brown, Ian E. McArtney, and Colin G. Brown.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
