Molly B. (Brown) Brickajlik

January 27, 1925 — September 27, 2014

Molly B. Brickajlik, of the Lutheran Community at Telford, formerly of Hilltown Township, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Brickajlik for 57 years until his death in 2004. She was 89.

Born in Richland Township, she was the daughter of the late William Leon Brown and Barbara (Mundy) Brown.

Molly grew up in Quakertown and Center Valley and was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School.

After her 1946 graduation from the Grand View Hospital School of Nursing, Molly was employed as a registered nurse at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville until her retirement in 1987.

Mrs. Brickajlik was a long-time member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dublin, where she had sung in the choir for over 30 years.

Molly had been a volunteer with Grand View Hospital Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She had also been very active with the Grand View Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.

The compassion she had shown to her patients throughout her professional career extended to a range of humanitarian interests and pursuits after her retirement. A caring, kindhearted woman, Molly enjoyed helping others.

Molly enjoyed the companionship of her friends, which often involved playing pinochle in several card clubs. She also enjoyed Scrabble, crossword puzzles, reading, and music.

Mrs. Brickajlik is survived by her children: M. Scott Brickajlik and his wife, Jeanne; Susan Brickajlik and her husband, Dr. Walter Drill, all of Hilltown Township; a granddaughter, Natalie Severance, and her husband, Eric, of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Willard Brown, and his wife, Maria, of Coopersburg; three sisters-in-law, Leona M. Brown, of Coopersburg; Kathleen Brown, of Harleysville; and Bernice Brown, of California; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Philip, who died in 1992; three brothers: Robert R., William L. Jr., and Alfred L. Brown; and two sisters: Dorothy C. Hockman and Betty L. Moyer.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family with interment in St. Luke’s Union Cemetery, Dublin.
