John N. Brickajlik, a long-time resident of Hilltown Township, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Frock) Brickajlik. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday on January 1.
Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Necapor) Brickajlik. He was a 1940 graduate of Souderton High School.
John was self-employed as a farmer, having worked on his family’s farm. Along with his late brother, Michael, he had owned and operated a used farm equipment business in Silverdale before retiring. Previously, he and his brother had owned a farm produce business in Silverdale, along with their father.
Mr. Brickajlik was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
John enjoyed the outdoors, working and spending his leisure time with nature. After his retirement, he had loved travelling with his wife, especially on trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Linda Brickajlik, of Hilltown; and Sandra Crawford, and her husband, Gregg "Chuck," of Doylestown; one son, Robert Brickajlik, of Hilltown; three grandchildren: Jason Brickajlik, and his wife, Coleen, of Souderton; Rachel Crawford; and Eric Crawford, both of Doylestown; his great-granddaughter, Katarina Brickajlik; and his beloved pet poodle, "Teddy."
His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2012, in St. Andrew’s United Church of Christ, 615 East Walnut Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where family and friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
Interment will be in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
