John W. Breton, 92, of Sellersville, formerly a 30-year resident of Quakertown, passed away, Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Quakertown Center - Genesis HealthCare, Quakertown. He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Joyce (Major) Breton, who died in 1977.
Born in London, England, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Annie Elizabeth (Cutting) Breton. John had served in the British Army before coming to the United States many years ago.
He was an electrical engineer, who co-owned an electrical contracting firm. His company was responsible for the electrical wiring of the all-concrete Mercer Museum, Doylestown. He was involved with some of the largest civic electrical projects in Philadelphia. He sold his share of the business and retired after his wife died.
John volunteered for many years at the Quakertown Hospital. He enjoyed bicycle riding and walking in the malls.
He is survived by his niece, Cheryl H. Peters, and her husband, Paul V., with whom he resided in Sellersville.
His memorial service will be held on Thursday evening, July 29, 2010, at 6:30 PM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
Interment will be private.
