Regina “Jean” M. Breslin, a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in Laureldale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Laureldale (Berks County). She was 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late Norbert “Nonnie” W. Breslin for 58 years until his death in 2008.
Born in Pottsville, Jean was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Kramer) Burdess. Jean was a graduate of Pottsville High School.
Mrs. Breslin had been employed for many years as a quality control inspector for the Greene Tweed Company, Harleysville.
During their 40-year residence in Sellersville, Jean had been a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church. After moving to Blandon some years ago, Jean had become a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Kutztown.
A voracious reader, borrowing books from the library by the bagful, Jean was also a gifted seamstress. She enjoyed classical music, delighting in the performances of Andrea Bocelli, the Irish Tenors, and various operatic productions. Mrs. Breslin most loved spending time with her grandsons, son-in-law, and daughter, especially if it involved shopping and going out to eat.
Mrs. Breslin is survived by her daughter, Jessica M. Bonner, and her husband, Michael, of Douglassville; two grandchildren: Patrick N. Bonner and Aidan M. Bonner; two sisters: Rosalie Zechman, of Phoenix, AZ and Margaret Govern, of Lenhartsville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Patrick J. Breslin, a casualty of the Vietnam War.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in the adjoining parish cemetery.
