Grace E. Billmyer

Grace E. Billmyer, of West Rockhill Township, formerly of Colony Cove, Ellenton, FL, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township. She was 98.

She was the wife of the late Rev. C. Frederick Billmyer, with whom she had celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his passing on August 1, 1992.

She was born in Blooming Glen, PA to the late Clarence E. and Emma D. (Wenger) Long.

Grace graduated from Hilltown High School (3 Yr.) in 1935 and Souderton High School in 1936 and completed her education at Lansdale Business School.

She was an intricate part of her husband’s ministries. She and her husband, the Rev. C. Frederick Billmyer, Pastor Emeritus of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sellersville, served for 34 years (1948-1982).

In honor of Rev. and Mrs. Billmyer’s 40 years of service to the United Church of Christ, a stained-glass window was dedicated. In addition, to honor the 34 years of service to St. Paul’s U.C.C., a hand-carved baptismal font was presented to the church by a member and his sons.

Mrs. Billmyer is survived by her daughter, Suzanne B. Lewis, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Billmyer Hendricks, and her husband, L. Wayne, of Coopersburg, PA; three grandchildren, F. Tyler Billmyer, C. Chad Billmyer, and Christine J. Lewis; and two great-grandchildren, Shae and Logan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was preceded in death by a son, Frederick C. Billmyer, and three siblings, Doris M. Renner, Donald W. Long, and Anna Wampole.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018, in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Community at Rockhill, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA 18960.

The interment will be held privately in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Grace’s name may be sent to Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
