Blanche Bianconi, 85, of Blooming Glen, formerly of Wyndmoor, passed away Saturday evening, November 23, 2013, in Golden Living Nursing Center, Doylestown. She was the beloved wife of Nazzarino A."Tony" Bianconi for 62 years.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katarzyna (Pieczonka) Maicher.
Blanche was a 1945 graduate of Simon Gratz High School, Philadelphia.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Bianconi had been employed in her younger years at Penn Fishing Reels, of Philadelphia.
Blanche had formerly been a parish member of the Seven Dolors parish, Wyndmoor and St. Michael of the Saints, Philadelphia.
When her daughter was a youngster, Mrs. Bianconi had been a Girl Scout troop leader.
She especially loved getting together in a social sorority with her high school classmates throughout the years.
Blanche enjoyed bowling, golf, and traveling. With her husband, she had been a member of “The Buckaroos,” a square dancing troupe that performed throughout North America.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bianconi is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Bianconi, of Blooming Glen; and three grandchildren: Joshua Bryant and Joel Bryant, both of Blooming Glen; and Jenna Bryant, of Los Angeles, California.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Maicher and Michael Maicher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 3, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rte. 152 & Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927. Family and friends are invited to call at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday.
Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Bianconi’s name to The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Road, P.O. Box 2049, Doylestown, PA 18901.
