Marie A. "Bonnie" Besch, 78, of Sellersville, formerly of Harford, Pennsylvania (Susquehanna County), passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, in St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Arnold M. Besch for 47 years.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Theodore W. and Marie Johanna (Vanderlinde) Bonnema.
A homemaker most of her life, she was also trained as an LPN.
Mrs. Besch had been employed in the kitchen and with patient care at Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown. She had also worked in radio broadcasting, reading poems over the air at WBYO, Boyertown and WNPV, Lansdale.
Mrs. Besch played the organ and piano. Artistically inclined, she was a talented painter. She also loved baking and decorating wedding and birthday cakes. A crafter, Bonnie enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. She attended craft shows for many years with her husband.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters: Deborah Christensen, and her husband, Jesse, of Rapidan, Virginia; Kathleen Christensen, and her husband, James, of Culpepper, Virginia; and Sherry Ormeño, and her husband, José, of Sellersville; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph James Somadge, Jr.; a daughter, Judy Hatcher; and a brother, David Bonnema.
