Mary J. Beer, of Richlandtown, formerly a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away peacefully Monday, April 25, 2016, in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was 78.
Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Russell C. and Hazel V. (Harner) Weidemoyer.
Mary had been employed for many years as a sewing machine operator for Jacques de Loux, Inc. and later for American Safety Clothing, Inc., both of Sellersville. She retired in 2007.
A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sellersville, Mary had assisted with the yearly crafts bazaars.
An avid reader, Mary had also enjoyed gardening and painting ceramic figurines.
Mary is survived by her children: Mark Beer and his wife, Tina, of Orefield; Adam S. Beer and his wife, Mary, of Quakertown; Jennifer Michener and her husband, Jim, of Quakertown; eight grandchildren: Adam, Jr., Jeanna, Mandy, Heather, Drew, Jessa, Randi, and James; seven great-grandchildren: Jolean, Michael, Mistique, Ciara, Mason, Zybenicka, and Cheyanne; and her life partner, Morgan Strawsnyder, of Quakertown. She is also survived by two sisters, Janet Dunlap and her husband, Donald, of Perkasie; Elly Sands and her partner, Ray Angus, of Sedona, Arizona; and her beloved Bichon Frise, “Sawyer.”
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Marie Beer, and a sister, Judith Kehs.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 30, in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 104 Green St., Sellersville, where a visitation will take place from 12 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville.
