Janet Rose Bauernschmitt

December 28, 1983 — September 28, 2008

Janet Rose Bauernschmitt, 24, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Haycock Township, went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, September 28, after an automobile accident in Geneva, Illinois.

Born in West Rockhill Township, she was the daughter of Jane (Sandner) and George Bauernschmitt of Haycock Township.

In fragile health as a child, Janet was healed by the Lord for his higher purpose and triumphed in a life of service and devotion to those in need.

Janet was a 2002 graduate of Upper Bucks Christian School, Sellersville and a 2008 graduate of Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio with a degree in Fine Arts. While at Upper Bucks Christian School, she was active with volleyball, soccer, choir, cheerleading, and hand bells. She also won several arts and drama awards.

She had been employed with the Upper Bucks Day Care. She had also worked as a camp counselor in Pennsylvania and Michigan. Recently relocated to Indianapolis, she was working as an Apple computer sales consultant and as a private art teacher.

Janet had been an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville, where she was involved with 4th, 5th and 6th graders in Junior Church on Sunday mornings. She especially loved getting involved with mission trips, where she enjoyed working with the inner city youth. After her move to Indianapolis, she attended the Common Ground Baptist Church where she worked with an outreach group to Muslims.

Earlier this year, her dedication to mission work led Janet to a life-changing service trip to Jordan. She had an instant, heart-felt connection with the people of the Middle East and had planned to return to that part of the world on another mission in 2009.

Janet lived the true Christian principles of devout faith in God, a reverence for his Word (especially the Old Testament), love of family, and friendship to all ages. She shared a special bond with her sisters and brother; she was their best friend.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her three siblings: Virginia Mlinek and her husband, Randy of Bozeman, Montana; George M. Bauernschmitt, and Barbara Jean Bauernschmitt, both of Haycock Township; one nephew: Isaac Mlinek, Bozeman, Montana; and her paternal grandmother, Hilda Bauernschmitt, Westfield, New Jersey.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning, October 4, at 11:00 AM in Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Bethel Baptist Faith Promise Missions Fund, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville, PA 18960 or to Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, PO Box 8585, Harrisburg, PA 17105, to support the Brockman missionaries.
