Sylvia L. (Solliday) Barndt

December 15, 1940 — January 16, 2016

Sylvia L. Barndt, of Perkasie, formerly of Ambler, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 16, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was 75.

She was the beloved wife of David R. Barndt for 51 years.

Born in Sellersville and raised in Blooming Glen, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Olive B. (Yoder) Solliday.

Sylvia was a graduate of Pennridge High School and a 1962 graduate of Millersville State College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Barndt had been employed for several years as an elementary school teacher in both the Pennridge and Wissahickon School Districts. More recently, she had worked in retail sales for the former Gimbels, Cheltenham. She later helped to open Bamberger’s, in Montgomeryville, and remained in the jewelry and handbags department at Macy’s. She retired in 2012.

Sylvia dedicated herself to her loving family and home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barndt is survived by her three children: Luann Barndt and her husband, James Grennan, of Alexandria, VA; Lynell Boveri and her husband, Joseph, of Lake Bluff, IL; John David Barndt, of Sellersville; five grandchildren: David, Jacob, Zachary, Mattison, and Mackenzie; and a sister, Helen Keller, of Souderton.

There will be no services.
