John G. Althouse

John Givens Althouse, formerly of Sellersville, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at his residence in Vista Village Assisted Living, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was 89.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Louise (Givens) Althouse.
He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Mr. Althouse was a U. S. Army veteran, having served on active duty during the Korean War.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rock hunting, but, most particularly, he loved spending time with his family.
A gentle giant, John was a man of few words whose bright smile would light up a room and whose sweet disposition endeared him to all.
Mr. Althouse is survived by his son, Joseph B. Althouse and his wife, Mykila, of Michigan; his daughter, Sara J. Schlehofer, of California; six grandchildren, Drew, Emma, and Claire Althouse and Daniele, Kyle, and Amy Schlehofer, of California; and a sister, Sandra L. Lamb, and her husband, Lowell, of New York.
John is coming home to Sellersville, where graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018, in Sellersville Cemetery, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
