Obituary for David W. Wagner

David William Wagner, a lifelong Sellersville resident, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Holland Village Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Holland, PA. He was 68.

Born in West Rockhill Township, he was the son of the late Robert M. and Katherine (Day) Wagner. David was a graduate of Pennridge High School.

David retired in 2020 after having been employed for 47 years in the housekeeping and custodial departments at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township.

A devoted lifelong member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville, David had served as an usher and had sung in the choir with his mother and his uncle. In his later years, he enjoyed attending worship whenever his health and transportation permitted.

An avid fan of classic TV shows, movies, and sports, David had also enjoyed working on his model trains and collecting CDs of favorite movies. Fishing at a friend’s mountain cabin and from a cousin’s Mystic, CT-based boat were also favorite activities. His happiest and most frequently recounted memories centered on his graduation trip around the world and the many trips that he and his mother had enjoyed over the years in her Winnebago.

David is survived by his two brothers: Edward Wagner and Richard Wagner; a nephew, Kevin Wagner; and cousins: Edward W. “Bill” Day and his wife, Myra, of Mystic, CT, Rev. John W. Hansen and his husband, Vincent E. Spiritosanto, Timothy Z. Day, Thomas E. Day, Theodore W. Day; and many friends, neighbors, former co-workers, and caregivers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an uncle, Robert Day; two great-aunts, Mary Day and Clara J. Day; and a cousin, William A. Hansen.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 19, in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church at the address above.
