Obituary for Kathryn M. Ketterer

Kathryn M. Ketterer, of Hilltown Township, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at her residence. She was 91.

She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond B. Ketterer for 53 years until his death in 2005.

Born in Souderton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie (Diehl) Royer.

Kathryn was primarily a homemaker.

She was a long-time active member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had sung in the choir and taught Sunday school.

“Cookie,” as she was affectionately known to close friends and loved ones, was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge 1539, of Sellersville, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Perkasie Fire Company.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her five children: Jacquelyn Gebhard; Dennis Ketterer; Robin Wojcik and her husband, Frank; Barry Ketterer and his wife, Deanna; and Linda Overholt and her husband, Michael. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Melissa and Thomas Maxwell, Jeffrey Gebhard and Heather Phillips, Katrina Gebhard, Joshua Gebhard and Cathy Stapleton, Daniel Ketterer, Jessica and Robert Conard, Jennifer Westdyke, Derek and Laura Ketterer, and Andrea and Shawn Baker.

Great-grandchildren include Sean and Annmarie Maxwell, Anastasia and Ryan Lattanze, Patrick and Megan Maxwell, Madeline Gebhard, Nathan Conard, Aiden Westdyke, Jacob Westdyke, Kathryn Westdyke, Drew Ketterer, and Jade Ketterer. She is also survived by a sister, Caroline Bishop; best friends, Joan Radvon and Minnie Scholl; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ketterer; a son-in-law, Theodore Gebhard; a grandson, Joseph Westdyke; two brothers, Harry and Arthur Royer; and two sisters, Dorothy Goepfert and Jean Ketterer.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 24, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
